#CopLand (1997) has stood the test of time fairly well, with the exceptions of no mobile 'phones and coins going into a NJ parking meter. (-:
By the time that #JaneaneGarofalo appeared on screen, it had become an exercise in star spotting for me. Even the bit parts are famous names.
Debbie Harry as a bartender, for example. Noah Emmerich the year before #TheTrumanShow. John Spencer two years before #TheWestWing. And so on.
It is of course peak Stallone, roughly contemporary with the likes of Daylight, Cliffhanger, and Assassins.
If you like Backdraft (1991), you'll probably like this, albeit that there's less action and effects; and vice versa, I think. Yes, yes, yes; but not *solely* because of De Niro. (-:
One minor note: When Ray Liotta's character has a change of heart and screeches to a halt in the middle of an empty freeway, my thought was "You can't do a U-turn there, mate.".
