Also been working on this little linear stage recently. Uses dowel pins and bearings as the precision surfaces, everything else just machined aluminum. Little crunchy due to a 3d printed ball cage but otherwise happy how the first prototype turned out

Attempting a 3D printed air bearing. Precision ground rods provide the bearing surface, coupled with an SLA print with integral orifices. Throw in some sanding/lapping post-processing and I'm hopeful it'll be a decent air bearing
