It's Sunday, perfect for finishing those shitty projects. I'm back with the T25 Frankenpad librebooted let's see if I can really get used to this Japanese keyboard.
Cutting things with the Dremel relaxes me...

Liberation Day 🦅

Installed Libreboot, cause its your device and your freedom.

#Libreboot #linux #freesoftware

@chesheer Yep! I'm using #X11 since the same time and saw:

- Kernel panic because of #Nvidia drivers

- Strange glitches and system freeze because of #intel #i915 drivers (in combination with #Libreboot and probably dying #GPU )

– Lagging interface in ~2006, because I've just installed #Radeon drivers and didn't configure 3D accel in #xorgconf

- #XServer ? Lol, it just works all the time  Even when manual xorg.conf configuration were replaced by HAL, then by evdev...

@Suiseiseki @mirabilos

My X200 is #Libreboot-ed, yes.

What I was actually thinking of doing was just supplying raw 12VDC (or whatever it is the charging port of the thinkpad takes) from a USB-C battery pack and a voltage-selectable PD adapter and feeding that into the thinkpad's charging port with no other battery installed.

That could theoretically provide multiple hours of battery life. :D

@libreleah apparently I also taught leah how to do emojis on IRC

I’ve been poking at the #libreboot laptop. The website said the battery gauge was faulty on the firmware, but so far I haven’t ran into it. So maybe the HP 840 G2 is ready for primetime? Unclear. To be fair, other variants have a dGPU and mine doesn’t, so…

@TomAoki @joenash Yep, I fully understand the challenges, which the MBR boot loaders developers are facing — all these difficulties with limited space and real mode, etc...

It was just a rumblings of the guy, who updated #FreeBSD on the #Thinkpad with #Libreboot and found that display didn't displaying anything before X-server start

Success! My new #libreboot laptop is booting an OS. It didn't do that with the stock BIOS, so I'd say Mission Accomplished. Next upgrade for this js likely to move to an M.2 drive when I have the cash. Thanks to all the libreboot developers who made this possible, and a special thanks to the guy in the libreboot IRC who mocked me about flashing this laptop.
I flashed #libreboot on the system and started running Memtest, doing good so far.
Well, tonight’s activity: Flashing #libreboot on a laptop that’s technically feasible, but not strictly supported. Exciting! Wish me luck, lol.
