OmilenLast fall, while walking with my husband in the woods, something slithered under my feet, I couldn't help but scream: A snake! But it was not a snake, it is a legless lizard (Anguis fragilis) common in Europe and eastern Asia and which is harmless. It is a species that is often difficult to observe due to its semi-subterranean habits. We were lucky enough to see and take some photographs of this curious being that seems like a whim of evolution.
