From my experience, the top performers tend to have a few things in common:
- They don’t hold a ton certifications—some have none at all
- They can learn new tools fast. Like really fast
- They have a rock-solid grasp of the fundamentals (Linux, networking, storage, etc.)
- The big one: they can solve problems. Give them a problem, and they come back with a solution.
