Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis)
During the hike along the Pryde’s Point-Alexauken Creek Trail in Lambertville, I came across Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis), a beautiful wildflower that marks the arrival of spring. Its crisp white petals and golden centre stood out against the forest floor, framed by last season’s fallen leaves. These flowers don’t linger long—they bloom briefly before retreating, a quiet but striking part of the woodland’s seasonal rhythm.
