I have remarked on this angle before. The old censorship, exemplified by the #Hays #Code, set limits on language and images. But look at the stories they told. The people at the top still wanted to tell stories.
Yes, Walt Disney had flaws, but he was still a storyteller.
I can't even begin to express how happy I am to see a Lackadaisy animated series coming to life like this. I have been a long time fan of Lackadaisy and remember reading it in the days of deviantart. Seeing how many new fans have been introduced to it through the pilot is really encouraging. Projects like Lackadaisy are so important and we should continue to support these types of indie animated projects, especially right now. Watching the pilot in production on patreon was truly an incredible experience. And now several episodes of season one are on the way! I am SOOOO EXCITED!!
