Saw a dead wild steelhead that hadn't spawned yet on my hike this week. These fish are on the brink and can't sustain excess mortality. Likely a fish released by a fisher-person. Please do not handle wild steelhead. Never lift them out of the water. Use barbless hooks. Don't use bait. Mortality rates decrease dramatically if you follow this guidance.
