Started reading #TheBlackTidesOfHeaven by #JYYang (or #NeonYang), and while it's got some good opening descriptions it's also showing signs of being overwritten. Quick, the author's workshop buddies need to go back in time to tell them four metaphors in one paragraph just to describe scenery are too much.

#JYYang was already excellent but today they retweeted an "autism acceptance, not awareness" post on Birdsite and it's both good in its own right and such a relief

I remember when I first realized Mercedes Lackey didn't think I was a whole actual human and it was awful, so mostly I just... try not to look and hope no new books by my favorite authors contain explicit anti-autistic ableism

Anyway I'm @polyplacophora as well if you want to take a look at that, but I made an account here because the local feed seems more relevant to my interests?
