protester at Trans Day of Resistance March in Boston Massachusetts honoring Eden Knight (c. 2000 – c. March 12, 2023) was a 23-year-old Saudi Arabian trans woman living in the United States who died by suicide on or around March 12, 2023.
According to her suicide note, which she posted on Twitter, Knight had been coerced into returning to her family in Saudi Arabia, who forced her to detransition.

I am so fucking devastated about Eden's death. I mean, I didn't know her at all.
But there's something so outrageous about the way she was pushed into death.

This network of patriarchal men - from her family to the 'fixer' to the lawyer - that preyed on her, used her shame and vulnerabilites against her, manipulated her.

All to get them back into their fake little cult that is so crushingly pervasive. So all-encompassing, all-seeing and all-controlling.

Reading about Eden's story feels like a reality-check. To put my guard back up, lest I end up in a similar situation. That being myself is a heavy burden to bear.
But it also fills me with such resolve to never give up. That this is, in fact, a fight for our lives. And that I will NEVER go back to their cult. I'd rather be dead.

Eden really was a leader. And an inspiration.
