Brattleboro’s municipal EMS takeover plan may face state review

Regulators at the Green Mountain Care Board say they must rule whether the $1.37 million project requires their approval.

To my way of thinking, it seems at least possible the Town of Brattleboro may have gone into EMS planning with a grudge against Rescue Inc. State review might not hurt any. Golden Cross arguably saved my life in May, so I am not the one to complain about the current arrangement.

At 85, a Brattleboro movie palace offers a picture of storm resilience

The accompanying photograph of Tropical Storm Irene flooding is less dramatic than video shown on national television, though the still photo gets the point of localized immersion across. The other end of Flat Street, over the Elm Street parking lot, and throughout that whole area was the most amazing mass of mud.
