PJ "Vote Green" CoffeyI read Scalzi's Head On. It's a detective novel set in an American future where disabled people use remote control to pilot robots in gladiatorial combat.
It seems like good rep to me with our lead detective able to use the assumptions of incompetence against antagonists as well as being near invulnerable.
CW above for this 2018 book is their is a mass, long term, disabling event spread by a plague.
