IWGB on Instagram: "The IWGB Private Hire Branch is calling for a consumer BOYCOTT of ALL ride-hailing apps this Saturday 14th February.
Stay away from Uber. Don’t book a Bolt. Avoid Addison Lee.
On Valentine’s Day, drivers are logging off our apps en masse and taking to the streets to demand fair pay, basic rights and proper safety measures.
All we are asking of riders is to find alternative transportation for one night only. Demand will be high but so will the potential for wins.
Every driver knows how hard it is right now. After covering all their costs - like car rental, petrol and insurance - drivers can end up taking home less than the minimum wage.
We all know that something has to be done.
New York, Barcelona, Mexico, France and Australia have all taken steps to protect their app drivers from exploitation. It is SHAMEFUL that TfL is refusing to do the same.
It’s time for drivers and riders to unite and win change.
Riders: Boycott all apps on the 14th of February
Drivers: Log off 5pm to 10pm. Bring your car to Riley Road, SE1 at 5pm for the protest"

Our revolution is not a battle of fine phrases. Our revolution is not simply for spouting slogans that are no more than signals used by manipulators trying to use them as catchwords, as codewords, as a foil for their own display.
