In other #iPhone news, my wake-up alarm worked fine this morning when I had the phone on the magsafe stand in vertical/normal mode. Hmm. I'm going to NOT touch any settings at all, but once again put it into magsafe standby mode (horizontal orientation) tomorrow to see if it still screws up the alarm.

Seriously though. This worked about a week ago - I saw a snooze/stop button on the horizontal display. Is the FOCUS mode ("Sleep") causing it? No idea what changed. #ios #ioshelp #iphonehelp

Okay so 2 days in with an iPhone as an android user:

Things I miss/issues/bugs ect:
- Locking apps with a password/fingerprint/faceid
* Available with the ios 18 beta IG.
- The appstore has an insane amount of """games""" that are just gambling.
- Applecare+ at 14chf a month.. but at-least I can repair my phone right? Or y'know make the parts available..
- The touch navigation is weird as fuck.
- No global back button
- Forced to have a dock on the bottom
- app drawer on the complete right is not well sorted at all. Just give me a list with all apps.. please..
- The lack of control over the control center is weird
* ios 18 thing
- I can't disable the "left" screen with widgets. So it's just an empty screen now I accidently swipe to lol.
- No sideloading outside of EU (My biggest complaint to be honest!)
- Lack of ability to change swipe actions on the home screen. - Would love to make an "up" swipe open my app drawer.
- The setup of the phone took almost an hour.
- Gets really warm and the battery life is.. questionable.
- AoD is shit. I disabled it.
- No automatic screen dimming? Wtf.
- No "nearby share" with android. Which is what I expected.
- The control-center audio player defaults to only apple music. Even if it's uninstalled. Instead of asking for a default.
- Auto upload to iCloud
- No settings in the control center
- Why the fuck does double tap open the pay thingy? I wanna swap that with the action button. So I can open camera that way and action button opens pay!
- The back apple logo has a different texture than the rest so my finger glides less on it. Which annoys the fuck out of me.
* Fixable with a case tbf.
- Wifi speed is a bit fucky at best. SOmetimes 300mbit, sometimes 2mbit on my 10gbit fiber network..
- The keyboard covers a lot of buttons in apps without an ability to close it so you end up losing a ton of shit you typed cause you can't click "save". An example is the "Her" dating app bio section edit. Found 2 more but can't remember where sadly.


Now that I ripped into it some positives:
- Good cameras
- Lidar
- Pretty fast phone
- The speakers are damn good
- Screenshare onto my desktop works really well!
- The health app is quite nice to remind me to take my estrogen and spiro
- Contact sharing is neat
- ApplePay works well
- Siri understands me well in german and english.
- Action button is kinda nice. But I bound it to the camera
- Phone is hefty and has a good feel
- Screen is insanely good
- Touch is insanely good
- High brightness upt o 1kN which is nice.
- Smooth animations, though I'd love to speed them up
- Decent selection of apps, but at-least 2 are missing I'd love to have.


These are some of my opinions.
If you have any ideas how to fix the issues I have please let me know.

ESPECIALLY if you know of any alarm app that allows me to play an AAC or similar audio format(s) as a stream for my alarm. As I like waking up like that. Bonus points for captcha.

I can tell already that this is going to be hard to get the terms right for a search:

I have a photo that I’m using for my iOS Lock Screen image that I took a phone or two ago, and I don’t know where my original photo is. Is there some way to save the Lock Screen photo back into my regular photos?

A recent iOS update seems to have broken the “keep cookies/localStorage” for in-app “browsers”. This breaks a number of significant use-cases for me. Is there *any* way to restore the old behaviour?

I looked through all the safari settings, including the experimental ones.

I fear this might have been lumped in with other tracking prevention, but it makes the in-app browser useless with logins and cookie banners.

After upgrading to iOS 16.3, I've noticed a **LOT** of increased "System Services" location use. Especially the “Compass Calibration”, “Find My iPhone”, “Motion Calibration & Distance”, “Networking & Wireless”, and “Significant Locations” services... Any ideas?

Other than disabling all these services, I can't think of anything else.

@MerryShari from what I can see, I'm not sure you can edit straight from the ioa app. You may have to go to the web from your browser to do it. Go to cupoftea.social and then log in and you should be able to fix it from there maybe someone else that uses the ios app can tell you more than I could! I hope this helps! #ioshelp
