Tubes of sand, tubes of glass.

Nature blog, focused on beaches, intertidal invertebrates, insects and spiders, birds, and plants of British Columbia, Canada.

Here's another velvet worm from the same night walk. This one looks like it's waving.

Kia ora!

I went out into the yard and got some more photos for @varx or anyone else who thinks they could identify it - I didn't want to bring it back in, lest I forget and leave it on the table before driving home and my colleagues get a fright on Monday (it jarred me enough to find such a creature in my vehicle)

What even is this? Found it whilst topping up screenwash and removing leaves from the engine bay, had to remove it from under the plastic trim with a pair of tweezers #England #insects #inverterbrates

(I have since disposed of it outside, whilst playing a recording of the Last Post performed on the bagpipes by an Australian pipe major)

Your regular reminder that #inverterbrates are the backbone of ecosystems.

Grow #NativePlants in your #ForestGarden as they have co-evolved with wildlife.
