@jack123 fair play. The sooner #indiref2 goes ahead the better. Scotland didn’t want to leave the EU. Neither did NI. The Tories didn’t care.

I believe the Supreme Court just proved we’re not.

The quicker we accept that UK’s democracy is under attack, the quicker we can start fixing it.

I believe that Democracy is fluid and an ongoing thing; it moves and should be constantly re-evaluated. The Scottish people should be allowed to ask whether or not they wish to be a member of the Union.

That said, I've seen people alluding to 'Civil War' and 'Violent Revolution'. Clearly this is a minority opinion, but it's also deeply damaging one; in order to win a democractic mandate, you've got to win moderates into your side.

I know a lot of indi supporters are going to feel angry and upset about the ruling. But it's is what it was always going to be. The question is, what was the purpose of obtaining the authoritative answer? I firmly believe the point wasn't to enable #indiref2 but to demonstrate that it is the UK gov that is stopping indiref2 not the SNP "not trying" and also, that like the 2014 aftermath, the cause will go on.

Well, the supreme court judgment is exactly what you'd expect it to be. That Scot Gov can't legislate for #indiref2 without permission. I am sure, that this was expected to be the result the entire time, so let's just see what the resulting position is from scotgov/SNP. scotgov was set up with constitutional limitations precisely because they didn't want it enabling independence so of course asking the question had this answer. It's obtaining that answer was the point.
