#IRC and #Mailinglists with their problems, [and they both have many] are at least #indexable and #searchable to the point that I could propable make a #supercut of #LKML folks shouting at each other...

The Madness behind the Linux Source Code Comments

YouTube

63% of my followers are #discoverable, only 34% are #indexable (by #searchengines). Most new followers are still coming from my prev. #mastodon #instance, #fosstodon.org. Might be the local timeline, it was way more interesting/less random than here.

Want to know about your followers, too? Check out this tool I’ve built (hosted on the #IPFS). It’s a non-commercial side project; not collecting any data – simply sharing what I’ve built:

https://fedi--followers-data0-one.ipns.dweb.link

(Last plug for a while, I promise)

a privacy-friendly fediverse followers explorer as local-only static web app.

The superiority of #text #documentation over video: #searchable, #indexable, #scannable

No #video documentation of over 30 seconds duration contributes value, just #frustration

The Seven Voyages Of Steve (@[email protected])

Tech industry, please hire more writers. I can happily read docs for 3h and get much more out of them than watching a video for 3h. And while I'm watching the video, I'm making copious notes so that I don't have to watch the video *again* later to refresh my memory. If it was written down in the first place with good indexing I wouldn't have to do that. Video is such a crap way to document things.

I've to agree with @geerlingguy:

#Discord is a shitty app made by and for problematic people and the fact that it's not #indexable - unlike every single #MailingList of relevance - makes it an absolute "No-Go" in my opinion.

Why not use a private #Slack or #MicrosoftTeams with forced #AzureAD to completely ban all people just looking for a result!

This is NOT the Pi killer you're looking for

YouTube

@eob @Rycaut #Should #I #hashtag #every #single #word #I #use #just #so #it #will #be #indexable?

Further, the convention doesn't necessarily mean the author of the post wants it to be found. It could signal something meta. Example: # MeToo

Why not just let me opt into search so that I don't have to put up with the nightmare of hashtagging every word and phrase?

@adnan360
Its a slight tradeoff yes. You can always, delete/edit a toot, if you make a mistake.

But really there is nothing wrong by doing it like that.

Maybe if its possible to mark a line as #lyric/#lyrical they can be #indexable too?
