PADT has been working with NASA, ASU, and Purdue to bring biologically inspired algorithms to generative design based shape optimization for parts made with Additive Manufacturing. Recently, we have coupled structural, thermal, and fluids simulation in one solver that uses a unique, bio-inspired optimization approach to solve multiphysics problems and take 3D Printed functional components to more adventurous parts of the design space - lighter, stronger, and with higher performance. In this presentation, we will update the audience on where we are in producing a useful software tool that connects different solvers and drives toward novel shapes. We will discuss the algorithm, how the different software products are connected, the user process, and several real-world test cases we have run. We will also summarize how this new approach is enabled by and takes advantage of metal and polymer additive manufacturing.

This year other team members and I will be in my usual place in PADT, Inc. exhibit, Booth #3551. We are almost exactly in the center of the exhibit floor, next to our friends from Megaforce MedTech.
We will be talking about Ansys, Flownex simulation tools and Stratasys, and EOS additive manufacturing systems. Also simulation and design consulting as well as 3D Printing as a service.
