@wolf480pl I'd prefer the ability to offload stuff in hardware.

@kwf @electronic_eel So an Intel X520-T1 would kinda break the bank?
Personally I sniped an #i350-T4 before they got scalped and that thing can easily saturate it's 4x1G ports without much hassle, but then again they only packet-filter...
And a #QuickAssist Crypto Accelerator Card doesn't fit into that #ThinClient Case...

@[email protected] well, I do plan to use #HTTP + #OpenPGP-#Signatures for @OS1337 [packages]( https://github.com/OS-1337/pkgs ) and distribute OS/1337 release images via #BitTorrent exclusively... But that's just because I have #Sysadmin experience with #narrowband comnectivity and acknowledge that a #SquidProxy on #ipFire is a way easier and more convenient option to #cache and #mirror than spinning up a custom #repo m-server to mirror distros... Also #CA's can and will be more likely to provide #LEAs with #Certificates to duplicate than a #distro would... --- Still, #upcycling #ThinClients as #MiniServers is nifty and I myself use several #t620's for such purposes like #backups, #downloads and #Torrenting #FLOSS #distros...
@pmdj me neither, but I considered them on several occasions as they proudly advertise the use of #i210 or even #i225 NICs and if I had to rebuilt my current setup I'd likely chose one of those if not a 1U version...
There are some even with 10GBit/s NICs [usually an intel #X540 2-port SFP+ card] cuz that would make sense.
Also the #i350-T4 I use has been scalped to 3x it's price when I built that system.
