Interesting points, about technology, our current predicament, the more than probable collapse we are diving into (human, and many more species'!).
There's something in this article that I don't quite like. It seems to me as if the author almost recommends turning a blind eye to the power structures and people who use them, like "just forget all of this and take care of you and your close circle". Not that take care of this is not important (all the contrary!), but deciding to ignore the bigger system I think it is like a sort of capitulation, a way to "let them continue their abuse". At the same time, our range of action will be, most of the times, just local, for sure. The old "Think global, act local", I'd say.

In its 6th edition, NODE will explore art-making and digital creative practices in times of ecological crisis—a crisis that is, in large part, fuelled by our technology needs. How seriously do we as a community of digital creators take our share of responsibility? How can we rethink our practices, challenge our industries, and empower others to do the same?

A first step is the critical examination of the go-to tools and processes that have become our ‘second nature’. From imagination to implementation—if collapse is to be averted, rewriting our Second Nature will be key.

While NODE is always about making, this year, we will start the process by sharing ideas and practices in conversation with artists, designers, thinkers and creative coders. These conversations will be followed by program that will invite you to work with them directly.
