I'm not sure how a segment like this gets through a news organization without someone calling bullshit on the various excuses the company (and the journalist fans of that company) are spewing.

#hyperloopone was always a scam. Anyone who has built big things and wasn't getting a paycheck from them knew it. It wasn't a victim of corporate culture, or external doubt, lack of money, or lawsuits. They raised $450M on a zany idea that was technically unfeasible without some major technological advances, then proceeded to not even attempt to make those technological advances until the money burned off.

If you wanted a Good Take on what happened to the company, call up an engineer who works with large reinforced pressure vessels and ask them whether it could be be feasible to build a vacuum chamber that spanned from LA to San Francisco.
