Update on the Hospital Chaplain (Per Diem) position I was offered in mid-Sept: Background clearances were completed earlier this month. This morning, I had my New Hire Health Screening, and I even got the latest flu vaccine. I was supposed to get my photo taken for an ID badge, but they said they still have one on file, from when I came on board as a Pastoral Volunteer. So, check that off, too...

Laugh for the day-
As I was volunteering at the hospital today I was entering a patient's room while she was on the phone. She was saying "they are arranging PT for me," looked up and saw me and said, "speak of the devil." I replied, "I'm not the devil, I'm the chaplain." 🤣
If laughter truly is the best medicine, she should be going home later today. 😉

If I were looking for a good book to read about hospice chaplaincy, does anyone know of one to recommend? I'm hoping for more along the lines of personal stories and experiences, but I'm open to other types, too. If you know someone who might have good recommendations, feel free to boost! Thanks so much!
