A little kid was walking by with his mother and said, "Mommy, there is something wrong with those ducks!" The mother tried to explain that there were different kinds of ducks and these were wood ducks. The boy was stubbornly fixated on what he felt a duck should be (guessing mallard), and insisted, "they are broken ducks!"

Microclimates are fascinating things. To extend fall viewing, start outside the city. Go north, where fall comes earlier. Then fall travels southward, hits the outside of the city. Because the city and its concrete retain so much heat, after fall has more than peaked in the surrounding parts of the city, High Park will finally be hitting its peak.
