Weekly 6th Ave Bridge Bannering Over I-5 | Monday Afternoons · Mobilize

There is street parking, but a lot of it is metered; Linda will have quarters with her on the bridge in case you need some. There aren't meters on the bridge itself so try to nab a spot there first. We provide large physical messaging in the real world to connect with and activate voters to demonstrate that resistance is possible. Bring a sign for cars on the bridge or just wave to the cars passing below. You can also bring a flag, chair, bubbles, music, or anything else you want in order to have a good time! Rules and Protocols 1. We avoid doing anything that could either harm ourselves or anyone else. This includes stepping into traffic, holding a sign where it could fall onto cars below, climbing fencing, etc. 2. We must not block pedestrian and bike traffic, so please keep the middle of the overpass and/or sidewalk clear to allow them to pass. 3. We supply the messages, you supply the waves. However, you are welcome to also display your own poster boards. Just avoid any messaging that would be rated above a PG-13. 4. We don’t litter. If we find litter, we pick it up and throw it away. 5. We don’t use stickers or anything that leaves a permanent mark on the overpass. However, chalk is okay and even encouraged. 6. If someone from the ‘opposition’ comes up to talk with us, do not engage with them. Best to just ignore them. One member will be designated to handle them and video record any aggressive interaction so that you can go right on waving. 7. We take lots of pictures and videos during our action for circulation on social media. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know and/or consider wearing a mask. 8. Should law enforcement pay us a visit, only the designated point person from the group should address them. 9. Ignore the middle fingers and negativity coming from some of the cars below. For every one of those confused folks, you are providing hope to another 100 people! 10. The Visibility Brigade is a non-violent, informal volunteer group in which we all participate with an understanding that our own actions are our personal responsibility and we accept our own personal liability. You participate with this understanding. Feel free to reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

We will be standing on the I-91 S. Center St. overpass in Windsor Locks on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. to amplify our messages about democracy and not having our country controlled by billionaires. Bring your large signs, smaller signs, banners, and flags to help us wave to drivers and share our messages. We will have larger signs facing the highway and the smaller signs facing cars driving over the overpass. Let your creativity fly! This event will be held rain or shine unless there is severe weather. Note: There is a chance that we will not be able to affix anything to the fencing, so come prepared to hold your signs. A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

Revolution Meets the Road March: From the Crossing to the Capitol: March to D.C. · Mobilize

Many years ago, when things looked dire and the future of the American Revolution hung in the balance, George Washington mounted a surprise expedition across the Delaware River, winning a crucial victory and boosting morale. We, as a nation, are at another critical moment. Come with us as we march to the Washington Monument in D.C. Like Washington we will cross the Delaware River and then trek over 170 miles through cities and towns, spreading the message that, together, we can resist the actions of a tyrant. We will march approximately 15 miles a day. You can march the whole way, for a day, or a mile! Start Date: May 23rd at 11 AM Start Location: Washington Crossing Park in New Jersey Approximate End Date: June 3rd End Location: Washington Monument in D.C. We will be lodging in motels every night. Last day to reserve your spot to guarantee nightly accommodation is May 1st. Ways to contribute to the Revolution Meets the Road March: This will be a costly endeavor, primarily lodging expenses. We are a volunteer group with a very small budget. We would greatly appreciate donations and sponsors. Links will be set up to collect donations. Here are some steps you can take to help. 1. Provide essential supplies (an amazon Wishlist will be linked at some point) 2. Sponsor a participant 3. Sponsor a portion of the trip Getting to Washington Crossing Park in New Jersey: Participants are responsible for getting to the park. If you are coming from Long Island, you can drive or take a train. There are long-term parking lots about 15 mins from the park where you can leave your car and then take a ride share to the starting point. If we get enough people, we can charter a bus from NYC. But that depends on signups and donations. What to bring: We will have some support vehicles that can carry your belongings to the motels each night. Please pack only essentials as space is at a premium. Bring clothes, good sneakers, sunscreen, and hygiene products. Bring signs! Bring flags! We want to be seen as we march! More information will be provided as we finalize things. Watch for notifications. Ready to march? Come with us! Register for the days you want to march so we know how many people to plan for. Hosted by United Voices for Freedom: Long Island *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
