#pocket386 clear case to be released in about 15 days @polpo #hand386 #book8088
I’m happy to inform you all that there is a #book386 under development. It will be released soon. #book8088 #hand386 #retrocomputing #retrogaming
#book8088 #hand386 #vintagecomputing sounds like there is another project computer from China. The same developers of #book8088 and #hand386 I'm not sure why it was not released yet. Any ideas?
@psf so, I ordered a serial card from AliExpress, and there is a website on the PCB: www.8086cpu.com. I did check the website a while ago. They had 3 products listed: #hand386, #book8088 and DEV and a sequence of numbers that I can’t remember. They updated the website, and I can’t find that info anymore. I have a screenshot, but I need time to find it.
@psf, me too. That would be much better. The Hand386 keyboard is awful. There is another project from the same people that created the #Book8088 and #Hand386. I think they ran into some issues and never released the 3rd model. I'll try to find more info about it.

I cannot get my #Hand386 to detect a mouse... I tested all the connections from the PS/2 port to the ribbon cable and tried a couple different mice. The optical mouse I tried even lit up, but ctmouse.exe keeps reporting "device not found!"

I believe I had the mouse working for a bit, so I suspect this is more shoddy connections... I suspect I need a new keyboard/mouse interface and/or a new ribbon cable...

@polpo potentially...

I really want to get my hands on the #Hand386 amd #Book8088 simply because they are nifty machines...

All I need for those would be an #ISA-based dock with stuff like the #TexElec #QuadFlop and ISA #XTIDE controller and some #Ethernet card that does at least #10BaseT...

@nazokiyoubinbou @Javmaster I'm shure the #Book80806 and #Hand386 are commercial offerings of something someone propably cobbled together out of the need to maintain some old industrial stuff or so...

Unlike the #Wee86 and #WeeCee that #Rasteri built.

Also there are a feckton of 8086 clones and donor machines still in circulation....
