Was actually in the ocean today for #MeerMittwoch, doing some #snorkeling at #HanaumaBay. The fish were giant and colorful, but I don't recommend going yourself. Despite being a nature preserve with limited access, they seem to let thousands of people in every day and the reef mostly seems stripped bare.

When crowds left, reefs came alive at Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, a popular snorkeling destination that attracts nearly a million annual visitors, underwent a remarkable and rapid recovery when tourism ceased during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.

These are my #TopNine photos from #2023. Shirokiya furniture was auctioned off, I visited San Diego, had #NewYear #osechi, rode the #Skyline…hiked above #HanaumaBay and walked around #DiamondHead. Good times. #topNineOf2023 #Top9of2023 #myYearInPictures
Getting closer to making a decision on the job offer. A longtime friend is back home visiting. We went for a hike today, and it was just good to be outside with an old buddy as we both experienced this hike for the first time. #hanaumabay #hiking #oldfriends
