It’s a wintery cold day so I’m making a batch of #goetta. It’s steel-cut oats and ground meat and spices, slow cooked then made into a loaf, sliced, and fried up as breakfast food. I like to make a big batch and then freeze slices of it for later.

This is the recipe I use:

Goetta (Cincinnati Sausage Grain Patties)

These famous German-influenced sausage grain patties, Goetta, from the Greater Cincinnati are absolutely delicious!

@jasonarust I’ll stick to #goetta. 😂
And for my #Cincinnati friends, am I the only one who has always wondered how different from #goetta haggis is, really? I’ve never had the latter, but it’s minced meat bits mixed with oats and heavy seasoning. I’ve even read that haggis, after being fully cooked, is often served sliced. Sound kinda familiar?
