Last night we saw #cabaret on #broadway after Adam #lambert #glambert stepped into the Emcee role.

First: he was amazing as the sinewy, sex imp Emcee, closer to Joel Gray than Cumming.

Second: But as the apple turns in the plot run he CAUGHT FIRE. His a capella “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” was beautiful as it’s meant to be. Only as his crisp notes hung in silence could you taste the sweet horror looming.

His opening pantomime after intermission recalled commedia del’arte. And his ending, a rictus grinning convert Aryan. So good. I’m a fan of his forever now.
