"After being put on notice for officers to investigate his claims, Sutcliffe continued fishing in the conservation zone and caught 21 fish weighing 42 kilograms over six hours...Magistrate Viviana Keegan said it was an "oddity" that officers allowed him to continue fishing."

He "was caught with three 100-metre-long nets in a yellow zone of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park has been fined $13,000 for his "highly negligent" behaviour."
