I made my first house in Blender! Not the big lodge of course (as my friends first thought), the little shoebox outside it. Yes I know, it's as simple as can be. But it's mine!

I had uploaded a separate physics model as instructed but still couldn't enter. Only bumped into the open door. My friends instructed me to change Convex Hull to Prim in the Features tab, and voilà! I love learning from friends who have done the same before. So fun.

Will only be a skybox for now.

I made this drinking fountain in Blender, it’s based on an rl one. Now I just need water for it. And a drinking animation!

@triphazard That’s good to know. My main issue now is that I can’t change the legs without having to do it 4 times (each leg individually), since I’ve already applied the mirror transforms. I guess best practice would be to apply transforms as late as possible in the process, so you can easily go back.

Oh, and here are more stools. 😁

The Blender adventure continues! Made this simple bathroom stool this morning by sculpting one quarter corner and then mirroring it on x and y, then merging the vertices. UV chaos, but it’s supposed to be just one cast anyway.

I bought a pull-up animation, put it into the pull-up bar, and found a script that I managed to tweak enough to position myself correctly!

Actually I bought two animations but this was the best one, despite the hands are not steady around the rod. And I don’t think the animations make the hands grip (is that was Bento is for?), but fortunately SLiK by @lokieliot has an option for that.

This is so fun! 💪🏽

Last night I built this pull-up bar in Blender, but I still can't do any pull-ups! Gotta learn how to make animations and add them to objects. At least I can sit on it!

What I find hardest in Blender is not the building itself, but how to work with textures: Should I do just one or several (here I tried two textures, so I could make the rod PBR). When should I make them? When should I mark seams? When and how should I make the AO texture? So basically workflow and best practice.

I made a texture for the shelf we built in class and uploaded the whole thing to SL. Guess this is my first self-made piece of furniture! I can't believe I haven't done this before, I now see all the other furniture I have with new eyes. Everything in this world was *made by someone*. And now I can make things too. 🙂

Yay, I made my first book in Blender!

I mean, I’ve bought books on mp before and tried to attach textures to them, but it’s such a revolutionary feeling to realize that I from now on can do anything myself! All those items on mp – it’s just something that someone else did! I can do that! And get the UV maps the way I want!

Classes continue this week. I’m attending Mesh Masters Academy to finally learn Blender thoroughly and from scratch.
