Another favourite image from my 30+ year photographic career. Now on overseas landscape, this is just above the upper cable-car station at Fuente Dé in the Picos de Europa. As soon as I saw this scene I was struck by what it might imply about our relationship with landscape.

On my honeymoon, my wife and I took the cable car up to the top of Fuente Dé. I wanted to hike down and photograph along the way, but apparently putting on hiking boots and hiking downhill for 9 miles with me stopping every 10 minutes for photography isn't "romantic". (She puts up with a lot!) We did both agree that the view from the top was breathtaking, though, and we got to sample the local cider afterwards.
