This Snack & Learn is focused on different media and messaging strategies that organizers and media makers have been experimenting with to shrink, reduce, and ultimately defeat laws that criminalize trans people's existence. Participants will: - Deepen understanding of successful (and unsuccessful) media and messaging strategies and tactics used by Southern movement organizers to fight anti-trans legislation - Deepen understanding of how Southern media makers are using their work to amplify movements against anti-trans legislation Featured speakers are: Rumba Yambú (they/them, elles/ellx), executive director at Intransitive Isabelle Philip (she/her), press director at Georgia Youth Justice Coalition Rae Garringer (they/them), founder and director at Country Queers This event will be moderated by: Nathalie Nia Faulk (she & they), co-director at Last Call Oral History Project & cultural organizing programs manager at Alternate ROOTS You will receive a confirmation email at least a week before the event.
