Note the damage to the emulsion and the light leak. Inspection of the holder revealed a dent in one of the rails; I have withdrawn this holder from use until it is repaired.

From my second attempt at photos with a 110-year-old camera for #FolderWeek—first, the glass plates.

Plate 1: The new build on the edge of town.

Note the damage to the emulsion. I need to rethink my loading and development technique.

Another #FolderWeek photo from my 1937 vintage Voigtlander Bessa. This photo shows the scourge of emerald ash borer. When shooting my Bessa in portrait I cheat a bit to the left to adjust for parallax error. Might have cheated a bit too far on this one. FP4 rated at 200. FX-39II (1+9) for 10 min.
This shows you why I prefer diffused light for woodland photography. The first photo was made on my Kodak Retina IIIC, the second with my Voigtlander Bessa. These were made moments apart. Both were loaded with FP4 rated at 200. Dev'd in FX39II for 10 min at 20C. #FolderWeek #BelieveInFilm
Recently I told someone that the diff between film & digital has to do with how a photo breaks down when you go from in focus to out of focus areas. This photo is an example. Film breaks down organically. Digital does it clinically. Kodak Retina IIIC. FP4 at ISO 200. FX39II for 10 min. #FolderWeek
I love the tones I got from this roll of FP4 rated at 200 and dev’d in FX39II (1+9) for 10 min. Kodak Retina IIIC. #FolderWeek #BelieveInFilm
