Some important coverage today of the trend of #scam artists leveraging the growing public interest in large language models like ChatGPT into really scammy "subscription services" that cost consumers an arm and a leg to access what are, in essence, free services. Here @SophosXOps we call these "#Fleeceware" apps, not technically #malware but somewhat more deceptive - and costly, to consumers suckered into paying for them - than the mishmash category of "Potentially unwanted apps."

I stumbled upon an ad for a particularly egregious example just from reading the news on the Washington Post's website.
