In the South Shore raid, neighbors said federal agents used #flashbang #grenades to burst through the building & several #drones & helicopters were deployed.

Ebony Sweets Watson, who lives across the street, said it “looked like hundreds” of agents were outside her front door.
Watson said she saw agents dragging residents, including #kids, out of the
building without any clothes on & into U-Haul vans. Kids were #separated from their mothers, she said.

As the #DC #military parade took place, hundreds of #protesters stood outside the federal building in downtown #LosAngeles. People had been dancing around, before hundreds of cops circled the 4-block square without warning or announcement, leading to a tense stand-off, acc/to a Rolling Stone reporter on the ground. #FlashBang #grenades went off, & police used #TearGas & smoke grenades to clear protesters.

Some participants from the local rally joined other #protesters by the federal bldg, where people have bee protesting for over a week in response to #Trump’s #immigration #raids.

What was at that point a crowd of several hundred protesters started toward a freeway overpass but was stopped by officers on foot & horseback. #Police began pushing people toward an adjacent street, then suddenly turned to #FlashBang #grenades, *less-lethal* munitions & #TearGas.

Police began #shooting flash-bangs & rubber bullets, then turned to #TearGas, after ordering a crowd to disperse following a demonstration outside the federal bldg late Sat afternoon.
 The gathering there was separate from the local #NoKings event held earlier as part of nationwide rallies to push back against #Trump & the policies of his admin on a host of issues.

Thinking again about the Boys' State program in which American boys in the summer before their last year of high school are sent to a week long camp to learn about civics and government by being tear gassed between formation marching sessions. Except now it also includes being in an enclosed space while flash-bang grenades are set off. Because non-lethal weapons and marching are at the core of civics and government.

On Saturday, law enforcement officers used #FlashBang #grenades, #TearGas & #RubberBullets as they clashed with #protesters who came to the area in Paramount, which had been rumored to be the site of an #immigration operation.

There were hundreds of protesters when the #demonstrations peaked during the day, but their numbers dwindled in the evening. Several dozen were still protesting at 6PM.
