POSSIBLE COLLECTIVE ACTION: the existence of a monopoly dicating how some see socialising online is an injustice and an attack on a free and open society.

Therefore if i see a capital 'x' in an article, specifically "said on (capital) x" im just aborting reading it, or if i must read the article then will skip the paragraph. One of the benefits of the name change and attempted colonisation of the capital 'x', is that its is HIGHLY visible and as such is easily spotted and avoided.

A nice pair of blogs here by @dublinux about some of the real-world challenges of federated networks like Mastodon, and offers some nice high-level ideas on how to contribute in these early stages. A lot of the content may seem like common sense if you're an open-source nerd but if this idea is gonna spread past just us, we gotta try to help *everyone* see what we're aiming for.
