A December 2020 meeting of Republican electors in Georgia is a central part of the case against Donald Trump and 18 other people accused of conspiring to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 electoral win in the state. The meeting was cited Friday as attorney Kenneth Chesebro pleaded guilty to a felony. Chesebro is accused of helping to orchestrate the meetings in Georgia and elsewhere to send slates of Trump electors to Congress from states Biden won. Prosecutors said the 16 Republicans who gathered in Georgia's capitol were “fake” electors. Their defenders called them “alternate” or “contingent” electors, saying they were trying to preserve Trump’s legal options as a lawsuit challenged Georgia’s election results.
The clip of Roger Stone dictating the false elector plot was shown on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber yesterday. So now we have both a longer clip (than in the Danish podcast I mentioned a couple of days ago) and video of the situation.

Those who showed up at the #Capitol to scream and break windows may have been #ignorant enough to believe #Trump and the angry rhetoric flying their way. These #falseElectors were fully aware they were lying when they signed their names to fake #certificates while claiming to be duly appointed #representatives of their state’s #voting results.
They were knowledgeable, willing participants in a scheme to #overturn the outcome of a free and fair #election.
Michigan attorney general charges 'false electors' over efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Sixteen people forged documents and claimed to be "duly elected and qualified electors" for the state of Michigan, Attorney General Dana Nessel said.
