Going through backlog in podcasts and had an old Changelog episode mentions the Free as in Freedom ( FaiF ) podcast. If you're interested in FLOSS licensing ( or FLOSS in general ) and haven't listened to FaiF you should grab the back catalog and listen to it

Changeloggers mentioned Karen having been on the show in the past

I episode down, two episodes added to queue :)

You can FINALLY use JSHint for evil with Mike Pennisi (Changelog Interviews #424)

Today we welcome Mike Pennisi into our Maintainer Spotlight. This is a special flavor of The Changelog where we go deep into a maintainer's story. Mike is the maintainer of JSHint which, since its creation in 2011, was encumbered by a license that made it very hard for legally-conscious teams to use the project. The li...

Just completed the book "Common Lisp: A Gentle Introduction to Symbolic Computation" 1990 editon!

Recently, 3 months ago I started learning the basic of Lisp (inspired by reading Free As in Freedom 2.0), installed Emacs, Slime, SBCL and continued learning whenever I got some time.

Although my choice of book/stuff may be obsolete however I feel the learning is quite meaningful. Hoping for implementing/experimenting it further to some practical recognizable task.

Have a look at the acronym I made for #Lisp just for philosophical fun!

Btw, It's only two months I started learning / experimenting Common-Lisp (inspired by reading #faif )

Did you like it? Or share yours!

@glitzersachen By the way, #Lisp is not retro, it's metro!

(subst 'metro 'retro '(retro computing by LISP))

I recently started learning common Lisp (partially inspired by Free as in Freedom 2.0) and now feeling very enthusiastic to learn and experiment more and more!

Relatedly, @karen, as a reminder the “… And we're back” bit is from an #SNL skit done by Jimmy Fallon. Given what we now know about Fallon, I'm disinclined to do his bits anymore.

So we need new “return” bit. I guess I'll look for one after the #Vizio trial is over.

Geez, @karen, do we really
have to make our first episode if we come back a retrospective on how we both disagree about the political and sociological history of our own podcast?

*That* would be the ultimate in podcast navel-gazing episode!

(2/2) @blp

The way @karen & I did #FaiF
when the workplace situation was still a mess was staunchly focusing it as “volunteer activity tied to no employer of ours”. It was “our thing” personally.

When Karen came to #SFC as an employee, it made podcast de-facto SFC work. We both have 0 leisure time, so it'd be SFC-official if it happens. & that has some weirdness to us.

Plus we live 3k miles away. Lotsa podcast hosts live far away, but our stichck always worked better in the same room.

@blp (1/2)

Not a month goes by that @karen & I don't discuss restarting the podcast. To give a peek behind the curtain, the podcast started as a project mandated by a toxic employer, but it became one of the few things we actually like about that job.

It's a tribute to @karen's & my resilient & truly special professional collaboration that we were able to continue doing it after we both escaped that toxic workplace & got #FaiF going as an independent podcast.

More in next post…
