One of my favorite teachings from The Power of Now, is that you can find a spiritual practice right where you are. Thich Nhat Hanh wrote about making a cup of tea, or washing the dishes as a spiritual practice. Mindful walking is another. I believe in the same way Rumi's poetry pointed to the wisdom of being open to learning from the world around us.

How do you handle a situation where the other person is very insistently "teaching" you facts that you are fairly certain are wrong?

Example: at the gym the other day a fitness instructor gave me advice that directly contradicts what I studied deeply in university. She seemed to have no knowledge of basic physiology and energy processes. The way I reacted wasn't terrible, but it also didn't seem to move anything in a positive direction.
