Scott Bottoms is a far-right Christian nationalist member of the Colorado General Assembly
-- who is now running for governor in order to wage ⚡️spiritual warfare on behalf of his state.

Appearing on a program hosted by fellow far-rightChristian nationalist Heidi St. John,
Bottoms said that he is running for higher office in order to
"tear down the high places,"
which is spiritual warfare language generally used by #dominionist Christian activists.

"I believe very strongly that Colorado is the high places mentioned in scripture," Bottoms said.
"I believe that one of my primary responsibilities as governor is to tear down the high places,
and so I spend a lot of time praying and thinking about that.
When I'm finished with four years or eight years or however long God allows me,
I don't want God to say like he did with many kings in the Old Testament, that he was a good king,
he followed the Lord, but he didn't tear down the high places."

"What does it mean to you to tear down the high places?" St. John asked. 
"I don't think high places are geographical in this context," Bottoms answered.
"The high places, I believe, are more attitudes and spiritual mentalities [as said] in #Ephesians 6:
the principalities, powers in high places and things like that.
So, I really am spending a lot of time praying about this.
Obviously abortion.
Obviously grooming.
Those are things that we have got to tear down.
These are the spiritual blights against our country and against our state.
"For which we will be judged," replied. St. John. 

"We will be judged for this," Bottoms agreed.
"And I don't mean just people; the church will be judged.
