After #Twitter was acquired by Elon #Musk, its name became #X and many policies changed.

After the arrest of IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 19, many names switched to #Bluesky to avoid #censorship practices.

However, according to #EngelliWeb, a project of the Freedom of Expression Association; As of April 17, 2025, it announced that Bluesky blocked many accounts for the first time in Turkey.

@cyberrights Most of the restrictions in Turkey are DNS based. You can reach almost all "restricted" sites in Turkey simply by using DNS over HTTPS (DoH) or DNS over TLS (DoT). Almost all modern desktop browsers have DoH option in connection settings.

In Android 9 or later, this setting (option) is system-wide. Some browsers in mobile may not (yet) have this setting.
