Wow! Surprise!
We've just been moved to a lovely little harbour on the Bay of Fundy! It's very picturesque, but if I'd had my choice I might have chosen somewhere with better weather. I didn't have a choice however, but I shouldn't complain because I'm still in my own house, and didn't have to pack a stick of furniture or hire a moving truck. This is the fourth move since we first came here almost 30 years ago! And we're still in the exact same house we bought all that long time ago. (Although for the first 15 years at least, it was always referred to as Dr Norman's house after one of the earlier owners.)
I know you're wondering how we managed this. We can't take any credit for it. This seems to be a collusion between the local council, the post office and couriers. The post office (or was it the village?) was responsible for the first one.
1. They changed the name of the road that we lived on.
2. Then they removed the rural route designation, so we became cosmopolitan. (Second move.)
3. Then we were informed that we no longer lived in the village into which we had moved, but to a village next door that we didn't know existed. Had never heard of.
4. Now, today, we had a parcel delivered to us and the courier asked us how we enjoy living on the bay. The address on the parcel was in fact to this lovely little Bay. I have to say it will take some getting used to, although the sunsets are pretty spectacular there and we don't get any here. So I'm looking forward to that.
I suspect that we may pretty quickly be moved back to the unknown village once they realize that we have planted ourselves in our house somewhere without paying the premium price of coastal properties. If this is too much for everyone to understand, you're not alone.
Enjoy Baxter's Harbour
