Ooh, just saw that Danny Elfman is playing two shows in SoCal in early August, repeats of his Hollywood Bowl show I was fortunate enough to catch last October. He's got a killer rock band + orchestra + choir backing him up as he runs through his Oingo Boingo & film scoring career + songs from his 2020 solo album (which is angry, and I've grown to love it).
My wallet is getting itchy. Here's a clip of (edit) No One Lives Forver from the Bowl.
I am going through my old CDs and preparing for longer term storage. I came across these paragraphs from the liner notes on The Simpsons - Songs in the Key of Springfield. It's something I've thought about many times over the years.
This is Matt Groening on how The Simpsons' theme came about when they approached Danny Elfman.
