Picked up some fresh flowers today to celebrate all of my family's September birthdays (including my own).
If you live in the east end, these fresh cut bouquets are only $15 at Danforth Village market on Danforth at Main St. I got the pink bunch, but the sunflower one was hefty & just as beautiful.

City of Labyrinths ~ HïMY SYeD on Instagram: "Labyrinth Maintenance Visit ~ East Toronto Labyrinth ~ Wading Pool ~ Ed McCleverty Equal Access Playground ~ East Toronto Athletic Field ~ Ted Reeve Park ~ East Toronto, Ontario, Canada ~ Tuesday March 21 2023
On this first day after the first day of Spring 2023,
We find the Labyrinth in Ed McCleverty Equal Access Playground
Less than fully accessible.
Melting blocks of Winter Ice,
Plus melted Ice Water has yet to drain,
Creating a partially underwater,
Slightly still frozen Labyrinth.
The "East Toronto Labyrinth".
"East Toronto" lettering has faded,
"Labyrinth" lettering remains easily legible.
Many of the colours of concentric circle arcs remain fully visible,
Meaning East Toronto still has its own fully walkable Labyrinth.
As a Grade 9 student at Malvern Collegiate Institute a few blocks south of here,
I would diagonally walk down from the Main Street rail overpass
To & from Grade 9
Through this greenspace with numerous neighbourhood names :
"Grand Trunk Rail Yard" ( its original name & purpose )
Ted Reeve Park
Ted Reeve Baseball Diamonds
East Toronto Athletic Field
And I exited the greenspace at a time when there was no parking lot nor this playground.
This "Equal Access" Playground opened in 1998.
Named for the neighbourhood champion Ed McCleverty who advocated for a Playground for Children of All Abilities.
When opened, it was the largest of its kind in Canada.
Today,
Many parks have playground stuff once only found here.
So this little park in East Toronto has impacted Playgroundology Canada-wide!
In 2015,
I finally got around to painting this Labyrinth on the surface of the Wading Pool.
The visit today was to also time the walking distance from my "Scarboro Labyrinth" to here,
So I can plan a World Labyrinth Day 2023 Jane's Walk.
As a 14 year old,
I used to make designs in the snow walking to & from Malvern C.I.
Forgot I did that...
