Paul BrowneOngoing process of removing big tech from family life at their request has taken a turn, Iphone now eliminated from partners life and replaced with a Samsung Galaxy ZFlip 6.
Nice phone and migration for her was simple and minimal Google involvement.
Samsung apps/system and a local Synology doing the bulk of the heavy lifting but a happy partner is apparent....
@chris I’ve migrated the family to Synology Photos with a diddy DS218+.
No additional friction over Apple Photos and the are clients on most platforms.
Oh my god who knew getting your notes out of iClout was this hard!
Done but what a pain in the arse for something you have been inadvertantly using for a decade.......
Freeing myself of big tech is proving doable but some bits are heavy going.
