Dolphin discovered on P.E.I.'s North Shore was infested with parasites, necropsy finds
The call about a stranded young female dolphin came on Oct. 10, 2025, at Blooming Point Beach. The dolphin had severe pneumonia caused by a heavy infestation of lungworms as well as parasitic flatworms called flukes in its ears, which may have caused it to become disoriented.
