57 Years of Revolutionary Realism: The Democratic Front and Its Path in the Palestinian National Project

On the 57th anniversary of the launch of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a fundamental question arises in the Palestinian national debate: What enabled this leftist faction to maintain its position at the heart of the national movement, despite political storms, internal divisions, and regional and global transformations?

The answer does not lie in a single event, but rather in an equation that combined political realism with steadfastness in struggle, and field action with mass mobilization, within a vision that consistently sought to reconcile national rights with the demands of the historical moment.

From Founding to Articulating a Political Vision

Founded on February 22, 1969, in the midst of a turbulent Arab and Palestinian context, the Democratic Front did not simply add another organization to the map of Palestinian factions. Rather, it sought to reframe the concept of Palestinian struggle from a leftist, democratic perspective that linked national liberation with social and economic emancipation.

It stood out early on with its bold political program, particularly its 1974 Phased Program, which called for establishing a national authority over any liberated part of Palestine. Despite the fierce controversy it sparked at the time, it later became one of the cornerstones of the Palestinian national program and contributed to shaping the approaches adopted by the institutions of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

In this sense, the Democratic Front did not limit itself to the role of a combatant in the field, but sought to be a partner in shaping the national decision-making process and developing its intellectual and political framework.

Three Pillars Shaped Its Path

Over the course of 57 years, the Democratic Front’s experience has been based on three main pillars, which continue to form its intellectual and organizational structure:

First: Revolutionary Realism

The Democratic Front adopted the principle of “revolutionary realism,” which involves assessing the balance of power with political awareness without abandoning strategic goals. From this perspective, it developed the concept of comprehensive uprising, culminating in comprehensive national defiance, as an advanced form of popular struggle that integrates popular resistance with various forms of struggle within a unifying national vision.

Second: Organizing the People and Building a Social Base

The Democratic Front viewed the masses as an organized force that should be framed within effective democratic structures: labor unions, student organizations, women’s groups, and professional bodies. It clearly linked national liberation with social justice, arguing that defending the occupation is inseparable from defending workers’ rights, students’ rights, women’s rights, and the rights of marginalized groups, and that the national project is incomplete without its social dimension.

Third: Integrating Forms of Struggle

The Democratic Front adopted the principle of complementarity between political action and resistance, and between diplomatic engagement and field action, according to the prevailing political and legal circumstances and available opportunities.

It participated in defending the refugee camps in Lebanon, played a prominent role in the First Intifada (1987) through popular committees and field mobilization, and continued its presence in the Second Intifada (2000), with its leaders and cadres present in various confrontation arenas, including the battles to defend Gaza during the recent war of extermination.

Between Current Challenges and Future Stakes

Today, the Democratic Front – like all components of the Palestinian national movement – faces profound challenges: ongoing internal divisions, declining effectiveness of national action institutions, accelerating regional transformations, and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or reduce it to partial solutions.

Nevertheless, the Democratic Front continues to propose political initiatives based on restoring national unity on the basis of a comprehensive resistance program and genuine democratic reform of the PLO institutions, which reaffirms the principle of partnership and pluralism.

A Renewed Legacy, Not a Fleeting Memory

On February 22nd of each year, the Democratic Front commemorates its launch, not just as a celebratory event, but as a moment of review and renewal.

History is not measured by the number of years, but by the ability of an idea to survive and evolve. Over the course of 57 years, the Front has produced martyrs, wounded, and prisoners from its leadership, fighters, and cadres, in defense of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people: freedom, self-determination, independence, and the right of return.

This is a journey that confirms that the national project is not preserved by slogans alone, but by organized action, a renewed political vision, and a will capable of adapting to changes without compromising national rights.

After fifty-seven years, the question remains open: how can the Palestinian national project be rebuilt on the foundations of unity, resistance, and social justice?

This is the challenge that constitutes the essence of the political battle in the coming phase.

DFLP: Zionist Regime Has Returned the Ceasefire Agreement to Point Zero

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that the head of Israeli fascism, Benjamin Netanyahu, with his continuous aggressive actions in the Gaza Strip, has reset the ceasefire and ceasefire agreement, which is in its fifth month, to zero, with the massacres, bloodshed and systematic destruction. Their tanks have torn up the “Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration”, which was signed on October 13, 2025 by four heads of state: the American, Egyptian, Turkish and Qatari prime ministers.

The Rafah foot crossing has become a trap and a station for arresting and tormenting travelers, who walk long distances on foot, and for constant humiliation by occupation soldiers, as well as by gangs of collaborators who also loot travelers’ money and steal their bags

The Democratic Front notes that the Israeli side has turned the “Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration” into a worthless piece of paper, manipulating the definition of the first phase and imposing its own conditions based on blackmail, by which the delay in receiving the body of an Israeli soldier was converted into an “international issue”, on which the fate of the “Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration” and the guarantee of the four presidents depend. It has also left the First Phase open without accountability, according to its vision and that of its government. It then moved on to its new blackmailing plans under the Second Phase, which it is now trying to define, stipulating that the implementation of the second phase must begin with the handover of the Gaza Strip’s weapons, while threatening at the same time that there will be no talk of rebuilding the Gaza Strip without disarmament.

In the same context, the DFLP warns of the danger of the occupation forces’ construction and military bases behind the yellow line, which indicate that the occupation army is determined to stay on the eastern side of the Gaza Strip, not mentioning withdrawal, but threatening to remove the yellow line and return to invading and occupying the entire Gaza Strip, always on the pretext of disarming the Gaza Strip, blowing up tunnels and destroying the infrastructure of the resistance, as it claims, without ruling out, at the same time, adding to the Gaza Strip’s files and conditions the files of resistance leaders and their arrest and trial.

The DFLP questiona the absence of the Peace Council headed by Trump, and the disregard for the developments in the Gaza Strip, all of which lead to the destruction of the “Sharm el-Sheikh Declaration” and the ceasefire agreement and Resolution 2803.

The DFLP also questiona the reasons for the silence of the guarantor states on the obstruction by the occupation state of the transfer of the National Committee for Gaza Administration to the Gaza Strip, and keeping it excluded in Cairo, as if Israel is trying to create an alternative reality to Trump’s plan, turning the Gaza Strip committee into a “government in exile” in Cairo or in El-Arish, making the occupation army, in the absence of a vacuum, the authority controlling the situation and fate of the Gaza Strip ■

DFLP: A Critical Analysis of the “New Gaza” Project

“In early 2026, Jared Kushner reintroduced his project known as “New Gaza”, presenting it as a comprehensive economic vision aimed at transforming the Gaza Strip from a collapsed economy to a fully functioning market economy. The plan envisages investments of between $25 billion and $30 billion, including the development of public infrastructure and services. Over the medium term, it aims to raise Gaza’s GDP to over $10 billion by 2035 and create over 500,000 jobs, promising what it describes as “full employment”.

However, when these figures are examined in light of the unprecedented destruction caused by the war, they raise fundamental questions. According to UN and World Bank estimates, the cost of rebuilding Gaza exceeds $70 billion, more than double the proposed plan. This includes the removal of over 60 million tons of rubble, the reconstruction of hundreds of thousands of housing units, and the repair of water, electricity, and sewage networks, as well as the rehabilitation of hospitals and schools, many of which have been rendered inoperable due to direct targeting or the disruption of supply chains and shortages of fuel and medical supplies.

Moreover, the human and institutional catastrophe has been particularly severe. According to local and Israeli sources and UN reports, over 70,000-80% of hospitals and health centers have been partially or completely destroyed, either by direct targeting or due to the collapse of supply chains and fuel and medical supplies shortages. Over 85% of schools have been damaged, along with nearly all universities. This has disrupted education for hundreds of thousands of students and threatened an entire generation’s right to education and knowledge.

Beyond the human and institutional devastation, the issue of prisoners and detainees has emerged as one of the most complex aspects of the humanitarian crisis. According to Palestinian and Israeli human rights organizations and UN reports, tens of thousands of Palestinians have been arrested since the start of the war, while over 10,000 prisoners and detainees are held in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including women and children, along with thousands held under the pretext of “administrative detention” or as “unlawful combatants”. This has been accompanied by extensive documentation of serious violations, including denial of legal safeguards, ill-treatment, and enforced disappearances, which add a heavy legal and human rights dimension to any discussion of “the day after” or reconstruction.

The gap between the scale of the catastrophe and the proposed funding does not represent a technical detail, but rather reflects a fundamental misreading of reality. While the plan treats Gaza as a struggling developmental project in need of capital injections and investments, field indicators in early 2026 reveal a near-paralyzed economy:

An over 80% contraction in GDP, over 80% unemployment, and extreme poverty affecting nearly 90% of the population, alongside widespread destruction of the productive base in agriculture, industry, and services.

More importantly, the plan assumes the possibility of launching an economic growth cycle in an environment still subject to strict occupation measures. Despite talk of “future” logistics corridors, ports, and airports, movement of goods and people remains effectively hostage to a complex system of external controls, limited quotas, and inspection and control procedures that render such movement unstable and insufficient to restart the economy.

The opening of the crossing, in its current form, does not mean free trade or a normal flow of raw materials or exports. Instead, it is managed as a temporary exception that can be disrupted or restricted at any moment. In this context, talk of large-scale private investments, industrial zones, data centers, and coastal tourism is closer to a theoretical concept disconnected from actual market conditions.

In this context, one of the most serious problems in the “New Gaza” project is the linkage of reconstruction to security arrangements. This linkage does not transform reconstruction into a human right or an international obligation, but rather into a conditional political pressure tool that can be disrupted or halted at any moment. Gaza’s experience over the past years has shown that any economic improvement linked to the security equation remains fragile and temporary, subject to unilateral assessments unrelated to the needs of the population. More dangerously, this approach reproduces the logic of “quiet in exchange for reconstruction,” where the lives of more than two million people are managed as a security issue rather than a matter of rights and sovereignty, and reconstruction is stripped of its developmental content to become a tool for crisis management rather than resolution.

Here, the fundamental dilemma of the “New Gaza” project becomes clear:

The plan separates the economy from its political roots and treats Gaza as a developmental problem that can be solved through investment, while the reality of the sector confirms that it is primarily a political issue resulting from siege, occupation, and the absence of sovereignty.

An economy without freedom of movement, reconstruction without control over resources, and investment without independent guarantees all remain unsustainable.

In conclusion, a comparison between the project’s promises and the realities on the ground reveals that the gap is not just in numbers, but also in understanding. Gaza does not only need billions of dollars, but also a fundamental change in the political conditions that have enabled destruction and recurring crises. Without this, “New Gaza” will remain an attractive headline at international conferences and a project suspended between the pages of plans… and the reality of the situation.”

DFLP Warns Against Turning the “Yellow Line” Into a Permanent Border Dividing Gaza Into Two Parts

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine warned in a statement today about the danger of repeatedly discussing the possibility of turning the “yellow line” into a permanent border that splits the Gaza Strip into two parts. This would lead to the entrenchment of the Israeli occupation in the eastern sector of the Strip, under pretexts that may be fabricated to justify Israel’s alleged right to defend itself, or linking this new reality to the issue of weapons and their removal from the Strip, turning this issue into an open-ended negotiation matter. This would justify Israel’s continuation of its occupation of the eastern part of the Strip and its ongoing aggression against the western part, based on pretexts and claims that have become well known to all, repeated by Israel in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria. The Democratic Front called on the guarantor parties to the agreement and signatories of the “Sharm El-Sheikh Declaration” on 13/10/2025, as well as the other eight countries, to consider the fate of the “yellow line” and what Israel might build upon it as a matter of great danger and vital importance. This requires swift action that would lead to the deployment of a stabilization force along the contact lines with the Israeli occupation, establishing mechanisms to stop the aggression on the Strip, and strict adherence to the ceasefire. The Democratic Front also calls for the expedited formation of a sector management committee composed of activities and competencies agreed upon by Palestinians, to establish management by the people of the Strip who bear their collective responsibilities before the international community and the people of the Strip. This is within the national context to advance the path of recovery, and to put effective solutions to the hundreds of issues that still trouble our people in the Strip, depriving them of their right to move to a stage of security and stability, and to provide humanitarian needs accumulated at the gates of the Strip’s crossings and in UNRWA warehouses in Cairo and Amman. The occupation remains the biggest obstacle to their flow inside, to serve our people, heal some of their wounds, and to restore the unity of the Gaza Strip under Palestinian management that works to strengthen its connection with the West Bank as an integral part of the State of Palestine. DFLP Condemns the Zionist Breach of the Ceasefire Agreement and Warns of Repercussions

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine condemned the ‘Israeli’ hostile operations against the Gaza Strip, viewing them as a blatant violation of the Gaza Agreement, which stipulated the end of the war and the transition to its implementation phases, one after the other. The Democratic Front said: What happened yesterday in the Gaza Strip, from the systematic bombing and destruction of homes under direct ‘Israeli’ control, to the shooting of civilians, and the assassination of some of them with drones, are all clear signs that confirm that the occupying state is trying to draw a reality for the concept of “the end of the war,” which allows it to continue controlling the Strip by fire, and by all forms of killing, including imposing a starvation siege, which makes it a party with alleged privileges, with pretexts that all indicate its intentions to prolong the war in the Strip in various forms, even if this leads to the situation exploding again, and in a way that responds to its desire to evade the commitment to stop the war, and return to its hostile actions, disregarding the position of the guarantor parties that signed the ceasefire agreement in the Strip in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Democratic Front called on the parties guaranteeing the agreement to intervene effectively and immediately to put an end to Tel Aviv’s criminal policy, and to put an end to Netanyahu’s appetite for more Palestinian blood and Palestinian destruction, in his impossible search for an image of a resounding victory against our people in the Gaza Strip, which he humiliated and humiliated their army, and led them to unprecedented international isolation, making them a mere follower of US President Donald Trump.

US Regime Detains Mahmoud Al-Muhtadi, Accuses Him of DFLP Membership and Al-Aqsa Flood Participation

Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub Al-Muhtadi, a man living in Lafayette, Louisiana, has been accused by the facsist US regime, of joining the Hamas-led revolutionary attack on the Zionist colony on October 7, 2023. Federal prosecutors have also accused him of then traveling to the US on a fraudulent visa.

The complaint accused Al-Muhtadi of being an operative the DFLP in Gaza that had fought along with Hamas and other allied factions. He was also accused of organizing other armed fighters in Gaza and crossing into the Zionist entity on Oct 7, after the first waves of Hamas militants.

Who is Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub Al-Muhtadi?

Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub al-Muhtadi has been accused of being a member of the National Resistance Brigades, which is the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine.  In the complaint, Zionist intelligence, along with photos on Al-Muhtadi’s social media and email accounts indicated he was affiliated with the group.

Al-Muhtadi reportedly made his way to the US last year on an immigrant visa, the complaint further noted. He reportedly entered through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and prosecutors reportedly said he lied on his visa application to enter the country.

The complaint noted that a man named Mahmoud Almuhtadi, living in Cairo, signed a US visa application on June 26, 2024, where he indicated he’d been born in Gaza in 1991 and had lived there until March 2024. Further, the application reportedly indicated that he did not have any history of serving in a paramilitary unit or engaging in terrorist activities.

He was held on Thursday at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center, as per NYT and ABC-affiliate KATC. He had reportedly been living in Lafayette and working in a restaurant as of September 2025, KATC reported.

Among the charges Al-Muhtadi is facing, are providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and visa fraud.

Palestinian Resistance Factions Release Statements on Ceasefire Agreement

Hamas:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Following responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the Movement and the Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump’s proposal in Sharm El Sheikh, aimed at achieving a halt to the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip; the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces reaching an agreement that stipulates ending the war on Gaza, the withdrawal of the occupation from it, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners.

We highly appreciate the efforts of the mediating brothers in Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, and we also value the efforts of US President Donald Trump aimed at permanently stopping the war and the complete withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip.

We call upon President Trump, the guarantor states of the agreement, and various Arab, Islamic, and international parties, to compel the occupation government to fully implement the requirements of the agreement, and not allow it to evade or procrastinate in applying what has been agreed upon.

We salute our great people in the Gaza Strip, in Al-Quds and the West Bank, and inside and outside the homeland, who recorded unparalleled positions of glory, heroism, and honor, and confronted the fascist occupation projects that targeted them and their national rights; these great sacrifices and stances thwarted the plans of the “israeli” occupation for subjugation and displacement.

We affirm that the sacrifices of our people will not be in vain, and that we will remain faithful to the covenant, and will not abandon our people’s national rights until freedom, independence, and self-determination are achieved.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

The ceasefire agreement is a first step toward ending the genocide, and the steadfastness of our people and their valiant resistance broke the zionist war machine and imposed the agreement.

The achievement of a ceasefire agreement and the start of implementing its first phase is considered an important accomplishment and a first step on a long road toward ending the suffering of our people. The time has come for the genocide to stop. This is the fruit of the legendary steadfastness demonstrated by Gaza and our Palestinian people, the immense sacrifices of the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners, and the resilience of the valiant resistance that confronted the aggression until the last moment.

We extend a salute of pride and honor to our people in the homeland and the diaspora, and to our martyrs, wounded, prisoners, and missing persons, who embodied the finest examples of sacrifice and steadfastness. Our people have endured what no other people have endured, and despite the destruction, massacres, and starvation, the occupation failed to achieve its goals and reaped nothing but disappointment, shame, and isolation.

Since the start of the aggression until the moment the agreement was signed, the Front has continued its efforts without pause, coordinating with all Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic forces, in order to reach this moment when the zionist war machine stops. The Front will remain alongside our people during this difficult and pivotal stage of their history, continuing its role in supporting their steadfastness and struggle until their national goals are achieved.

We highly value the efforts of the brothers in Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and all other Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the positions and actions of the free nations and peoples of the world who rejected the continuation of the massacres and sought to stop them, whose efforts contributed to reaching this agreement. We particularly appreciate Egypt’s firm stance rejecting displacement and supporting the steadfastness of our people on their land.

The current agreement broke the zionist ‘noes’ and goals. It is the possible option under the current circumstances, and its success is linked to the occupation’s commitment and clear American guarantees that prevent procrastination. Our goal now is to continue working to end the war of genocide definitively, achieve a comprehensive withdrawal from the Strip, break the siege, and end the suffering of our people.

We are working with all factions, under Egyptian auspices, toward a comprehensive national dialogue that opens a new horizon for building a unified strategy based on the constants and historical rights of our people to confront the next stage, and to rebuild our national institutions on the basis of partnership to face all challenges.

We reject foreign guardianship and affirm that the administration of Gaza must be purely Palestinian, with Arab and international participation in reconstruction and recovery.

The world today stands by us and supports our right to freedom and self-determination. Global action and the pursuit of the occupation and its leaders must continue even after reaching a ceasefire agreement, so that Palestine remains alive in the conscience of the world until the occupation is removed.

Popular Resistance Committees:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The agreement reached through the efforts of the Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediators and brothers to stop the aggression, the holocaust, and the zionist genocide in the Gaza Strip came as a fruit and result of the legendary steadfastness of Gaza and its resisting people and their great sacrifices after two years of aggression.

The unified stance and response of the resistance factions, and their refusal to submit to the equation of genocide or surrender, foiled all the plans of the zionist enemy. Despite the atrocity of the crimes, the horror of the destruction, and the humanitarian tragedy, the enemy and those who support it failed to uproot our people and displace them from their land, and our people remained steadfast and stationed on their land.

We call for the continuation of all Arab, Islamic, and international pressure tools on the American administration and the zionist entity to ensure the implementation of the agreement in all its stages, leading to the complete withdrawal of the zionist army from the Gaza Strip.

With great pride, we salute the heroic martyrs of our people, the unarmed civilians, leaders, and fighters, in Gaza, the West Bank, and all arenas of confrontation and support in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, and Iran, who offered the purest blood and dearest souls for the sake of our people and our cause. We salute our prisoners and wounded, and we affirm to them all that their sacrifices will remain immortal and present in the conscience, minds, and hearts of the sons of the nation and the free people of the world, serving as an inexhaustible source of pride, glory, and inspiration.

Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine:

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine congratulated our people everywhere, especially in the steadfast Gaza Strip, on achieving a ceasefire within the framework of the ongoing negotiations. At the same time, the Democratic Front warned against the malicious intentions of the “israeli” side, and called on mediators to work to thwart any “israeli” attempts to circumvent the decision and betray our people, similar to the treacherous stance taken by the “israeli” fascist government on 2/3/2024.

The Democratic Front affirmed its confidence that the “israeli” side’s submission to the ceasefire decision in the Strip would not have happened were it not for the legendary steadfastness of our people, their resilience, cohesion, and rejection of all calls for surrender and submission.

The Democratic Front considered the ceasefire an important step towards stopping the war and imposing the complete withdrawal of the “israeli” enemy, and beginning the healing of wounds, including opening the crossings and providing immediate, unconditional supplies to the Strip of all vital, living, and humanitarian necessities and needs, and providing the conditions for launching a reconstruction project for the Strip in cooperation with sisterly Egypt and the rest of the Arab countries.

In the same context, the Democratic Front stressed the necessity of confronting the second chapter of the Trump plan with a unified Palestinian national stance that thwarts all projects aimed at separating the Strip from the West Bank, and dissipating its national identity and great sacrifices made during two years of steadfastness and confrontation. This requires an urgent call for a comprehensive Palestinian national dialogue, including the Secretaries-General, members of the Executive Committee, the Presidency of the National Council, and national figures, to agree on a unified national plan for confrontation in the next phase, and to form a unified Palestinian delegation for negotiations similar to 2014, which would enable the achievement of the desired goals that guarantee the unity of the land of the State of Palestine, thwart the mandatory alternatives, and simultaneously guarantee the legitimate national rights of our people to freedom, independence, and the right of return within the framework of the PLO, the sole legitimate representative of our people.

Mujahideen Movement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The achievement of the ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners with the enemy is the fruit of the steadfastness, patience, and sacrifices of our proud Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, who thwarted the plans for displacement and the liquidation of the cause, and stood firm against two years of genocide and ethnic cleansing crimes.

We commend the bravery and sacrifices of the resistance factions who stood firm and inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, defending their people and their cause. Their struggle and the steadfastness of our people were an essential pillar in achieving this agreement, by the grace of God.

While we praise the efforts of the mediators (Egypt, Turkey, Qatar) to achieve the agreement, we call upon the mediators and guarantors to compel the enemy to adhere to the terms of the agreement, as it is accustomed to procrastination and breaking covenants.

In these historical moments, we remember the righteous martyrs of our people and their leaders who ascended in this battle and who played a prominent role in the steadfastness of our people and the achievement of this agreement.

Mercy for our righteous martyrs, healing for our wounded, and freedom for all our brave prisoners.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

The agreement reached on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with the zionist enemy was not a gift from anyone. Although we do not deny the Arab and international efforts, we emphasize the immense sacrifices made by our Palestinian people, and the courage and valor of their fighters in the field who confronted the enemy forces and showed unprecedented bravery in combat; without this, the resistance would not have been able to stand as a strong equal at the negotiating table.

In these historical moments, our people will not forget their great martyrs who played the most important role in keeping the resistance steadfast and reaching this crucial juncture where it could conclude the agreed-upon terms to force the enemy to halt the aggression.

Glory to all the martyrs, and victory to our people.

Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. Thursday, 17 Rabi’ al-Thani 1447 AH, October 9, 2025 AD.

Fatah Al-Intifada:

The first-phase agreement reached regarding the ceasefire and the process of exchanging prisoners and detainees constitutes a victory for the valiant Palestinian resistance and the patient, steadfast Palestinian people, despite the bloodshed and destruction witnessed during the war of genocide and ethnic cleansing carried out by the zionist occupation, which has resulted in seventy thousand martyrs, one hundred thousand wounded, and hundreds of prisoners and detainees.

What the leadership of the Hamas movement and the resistance factions have achieved, despite attempts at deception, misinformation, and malicious maneuvers, is a shining testament to credibility, steadfastness, diligence, and national responsibility, stemming from the preservation of the supreme national interests of the Palestinian people and a commitment to the pure blood that has been shed and continues to be shed in Palestine and all arenas of resistance.

Hamas has won, the Palestinian resistance has won, and the fronts supporting the resistance have won through legendary steadfastness and heroic epics that history will record as a beacon and guidance for future generations.

Victory to the resistance fighters.

Freedom for the prisoners and detainees.

Glory and immortality to the righteous martyrs.

And it is a revolution until victory.

DFLP: Resistance Forced US to Push for Gaza Truce

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), Ali Faisal, affirmed in an interview with Al Mayadeen on Saturday that the steadfastness of the Palestinian Resistance and the growing isolation of the Zionist occupation were decisive factors behind the United States’ decision to seek an end to the war on Gaza.

Faisal called on mediators to play an active role in consolidating the emerging agreement and ensuring the enforcement of its mechanisms amid the regime’s repeated violations and reluctance to abide by commitments.

“The steadfastness of the Resistance and the occupation’s isolation governed the US decision to end the war,” Faisal told Al Mayadeen, stressing that mediators must now “play their part in securing the deal and guaranteeing its implementation in light of Israel’s evasion.”

Faisal noted that the Resistance forces across the region have played a “crucial role in shaping regional and international equations,” warning that vigilance is essential as negotiations advance.

“The Resistance movements in the region have had a decisive impact on regional and global dynamics,” he said, adding that caution remains vital in managing the ongoing talks.

Hamas’ response marks turning point

Hamas earlier announced its official response to the US-brokered proposal, expressing readiness to release all Zionist captives—both living and deceased—under agreed operational conditions. The movement also reaffirmed its commitment to begin, through mediators, immediate negotiations to finalize the details of the exchange.

Hamas reiterated its willingness to hand over the administration of the Gaza Strip to an independent Palestinian technocratic body, formed through national consensus and supported by Arab and Islamic states.

Factions endorse unified national stance

Palestinian Resistance factions collectively welcomed Hamas’s response as the result of a “responsible national position” reached through broad consultations. They emphasized that the move aligns with the Palestinian people’s interests and guarantees an end to what they described as the Zionist regime’s ongoing war of extermination in Gaza.

In a joint statement, the factions urged all relevant actors, including the Palestinian Authority (PA), to follow through with their responsibilities—chiefly by convening an urgent national meeting to translate this diplomatic momentum into a unified political framework protecting Palestinian rights and national aspirations.

First Tunisian Flotilla Heads to Gaza, Named After DFLP Martyr Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami

On Sunday, the first Tunisian ship participating in the Global Steadfastness Flotilla towards Gaza departed from Gammarth port. It was named after the Tunisian martyr Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, who was martyred in an operation he carried out in the Galilee Panhandle, north of occupied Palestine, in 1988.

The departure of this ship from Gammarth to Gaza, bearing the name of martyr Imran Al-Muqaddami, is considered an honor to his soul and sacrifices, and a symbolic message affirming the continued connection to the primary cause of Arabs and Muslims: the cause of Palestine.

The martyred commander, First Lieutenant Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, was born in 1962 in his city, Sidi Bouzid, Tunisia.

In 1987, he joined the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, along with a number of his fellow fighters, who chose Palestine as their second homeland, fighting to liberate its soil from the zionist enemy.

On April 26, 1988, he assumed command of the group of the martyred commander “Abu Jihad Al-Wazir,” a member of Fatah’s Central Committee, who was assassinated by Mossad gangs and the “israeli” army at his headquarters in Tunisia on April 16, 1988.

On April 26, 1988, 10 days after the martyrdom of Commander Al-Wazir, the group of fedayeen belonging to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, led by Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, moved towards the occupied land from southern Lebanon, in revenge for the martyred Commander Al-Wazir.

The martyred Al-Wazir group, led by its commander Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, stormed and took control of one of the “israeli” enemy’s bases in southern Lebanon, capturing a large number of enemy soldiers. The enemy refused to respond to the demand to evacuate its prisoners in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian and Arab prisoners from its jails.

A fierce battle ensued between the two sides, in which a number of “israeli” enemy dead and wounded fell, including the hostages captured by the fedayeen group.

The battle ended with the martyrdom of the three fighters, heroes of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and its Revolutionary Armed Forces: 1- The martyred commander, First Lieutenant Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami (Abu Khaled) (Tunisian); 2- The martyred First Lieutenant Muhammad Hamad Daoud Judy (Palestinian – Nablus); 3- The martyred Assistant Nidal Hassan Abu Khamis (Palestinian, Yarmouk Camp – Damascus).

In an exchange operation between the Lebanese and Palestinian resistances and the “israeli” enemy, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine recovered the bodies of its martyrs, including the martyred commander Imran bin Al-Kilani Al-Muqaddami, whose remains were transferred to his city, Sidi Bouzid (Tunisia), where he was laid to rest in a massive funeral, with the flags of Tunisia and Palestine raised.

After 32 Years of Its Political Disasters, It Is Time to Free Ourselves from the ‘Oslo Accord’ and Return to the National Program: DFLP

On the 32nd anniversary of the signing of the Oslo Accord on 13 September 1993, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement saying: this is an occasion through which our people recall the damage and political disasters it has inflicted, especially the Oslo Accord’s betrayal of the national program and the Declaration of Independence, in favor of a negotiating project that transformed our people’s cause from a struggle for liberation from occupation and settlement into a mere negotiating issue; whose keys and course were held by the occupying state and its biased American mediator. This included exploiting its terms to complete the zionist settler-colonial project, leading to the explicit proclamation of “israel’s” Talmudic state project, and tireless work by all means to undermine the foundations of the national project, the latest being the declaration by the head of the “israeli” fascist junta that there is no place for a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Democratic Front stated that the Oslo Accord burdened the national situation with a wide range of restrictions, the most important of which are:

1. It recognized the right of the zionist project to the land of Palestine when it recognized “‘israel’s’ right to exist,” in exchange for denying our people’s right to their land.

2. It conferred on the state of occupation, settlement, and aggression the label of a “peace partner” in a vague agreement that “israel” immediately revealed to be its historic project to re-engineer the Middle East, through the call of its foreign minister Shimon Peres for a “New Middle East.”

3. It built an administrative self-rule authority under the domination of the occupation and according to its humiliating conditions, including its control over borders, crossings, the population registry, and the land, reducing the Authority’s role to little more than municipal services.

4. It established security agencies for the administrative authority, weighed down with humiliating conditions within the framework of security coordination, turning them into a wall protecting “israel’s” security and pursuing Palestinian national strugglers and resistance fighters.

5. It made resolving the Palestinian cause conditional on the approval of the occupying state and the American mediator, whom the Authority’s leadership itself admitted is biased, dishonest, and not neutral.

6. It bound the PLO with Oslo’s commitments, leading to the annulment of the Palestinian National Charter and ultimately conditioning membership in the Organization on adherence to Oslo’s restrictions and obligations.

7. It paralyzed legislative institutions, especially the Palestinian National Council and the Central Council. The political leadership’s commitments under Oslo obstructed the decisions of these two councils, especially the 23rd session of the PNC and the 31st of the Central Council, giving precedence to the Oslo Accord over Palestinian legitimacy.

8. It opened the Arab gates to recognizing “israel” in various forms, after the Palestinian political leadership recognized “‘israel’s’ right to exist.”

9. It harmed the refugees’ right of return, turning it into a negotiating issue subject to “israel’s” veto.

10. It obstructed the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions that contradict Oslo’s commitments, such as the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice requiring the dismantling of the “israeli” separation wall, which drew unilateral borders at the expense of Palestinian land.

11. Last but not least, it weakened national institutions and paralyzed their capacity to act; the PLO Executive Committee stands as a glaring example of this.

The Democratic Front concluded by renewing its call to abolish the Oslo Accord, its commitments, and its obligations, and to return to the national project, including the implementation of the decisions of the Palestinian National Council (23rd session) and the Central Council (31st session), and to act upon the outcomes of rounds of national dialogue, especially the 2024 Beijing Dialogue, to rebuild the Palestinian political system, agree on a national program for comprehensive confrontation, strengthen the unity of our people in the field, remove obstacles to political and institutional division, and restore the values and standards of national liberation movements, on the path to comprehensive confrontation, resisting the zionist settler-colonial project, and paving the way for freedom, independence, and the refugees’ right of return.
