Devany was in Chicago for a conference, so I got to do a quick solo trip to Denali for Solstice. It was crazy hot, 80º the first day I got there. Way too hot to see many critters. Did a quick ride on the bike to East Fork and back before late afternoon thunderstorms moved in. I got back to the R

Back from a wild solo trip to Denali National Park and Preserve Crazy weather all 4 days, from 80º hot to torrential rain at times and lightning strike caused wildfires that brought in smoke. Plus this guy only 50 yards off the road as I biked through Igloo Canyon. It was a fun trip! Lots more pictures tomorrow. #Alaska #Denali #WildLifePhotography
Mixed feelings about lots of things, but one thing is for sure: wow, those mountains are big. #denali #alaska

We’re just back from our first week long trip to @Denali National Park and Preserve of 2026 and it was amazing. 6 full days of nothing but sunshine and temperatures at times into the 70’s—the longest stretch of beautiful weather we can remember in the park. It was just barely starting to green-up

We're back from an epic week in Denali Park and Preserve. The longest stretch of incredible weather we've ever had in the park. In the space of 5 days, we went from full-on winter up high, to rapidly greening spring after 70º temps and sunshine. Oh yes, and we absolutely did bike with bears, including this one about 40 yards off the road! Lots more pictures tomorrow. #Alaska #Denali #DenaliNationalPark #Bears #WildLifePhotography

On May 30th, at about 8:30pm, I stood on top of North America!

This is by far the most physically and mentally challenging thing I’ve done in my life. It is also one of the most life impacting experiences I’ve had in my 50+ years; both good and bad.

This mountain is not forgiving; every minute of every hour is earned, not given. And I mean that literally, even rest days were hard…

Done and dusted, never to be visited again…
