Finally getting around to watching “Punk the Capital” about the inception of punk rock in DC in the late 1970s featuring interviews with all of the usual suspects but there’s video footage I’ve never seen before.

Dag Nasty “Dag with Shawn” (Dischord, 2011)
This is the original lineup of Dag Nasty featuring Shawn Brown of Swiz on vocals. It was recorded in 1985 but never officially released until 2011. Around this same time, Dischord also put out previously unreleased recordings by Void and Artificial Peace. I feel like vinyl reissue madness was hitting its peak at this time and hasn’t slowed down since.
Brown’s lyrics are both introspective and confrontational, and the music is a triumphant, melodic style of hardcore that creates a bridge to what ppl call emo today.
