Out May 1 - Genre Is Death “Attractive People” LP from In The Red Records

"Genre Is Death is an uncompromising noise duo made up of Ty V (guitar, vox) and Tayler Lee (bass, vox). Their sound is abrasive yet melodic, using heavy distortion, dissonant riffs, and reverberating vocals to create a wave of boldly hypnotic noise. The duo have been compared to the likes of Sonic Youth and Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, yet have managed to create a sound that is distinctly their own."

Out May 15 - Sultans “Ghost Ship” LP COLOR from Swami Records.

"Sultans Ghost Ship LP was originally released on Sympathy For The Record Industry in 2000. While Rocket from the Crypt looked for a new drummer, Speedo (armed with an 8 track tape machine and 3 microphones) devised yet another alias as ‘Slasher’ and concocted this primordial ooze of moped scuzz, punk rock and roll.”

This reissue is on white opaque vinyl, and includes five bonus tracks!

Out May 15 - Mrs. Magician “Spiritual Hangover” LP from Swami Records.

"San Diego’s Mrs. Magician has always bent surf music and punk into something delightfully off-kilter.

Their newest album Spiritual Hangover channels the bright urgency of late-’70s power pop through a distinctly Californian lens — warm, melodic, and alive.

The album features Andrew Montoya (drums) and Mark Rivera (bass) of The Sess, Ian Fowles (guitar) of The Aquabats, and John Reis (guitar).”

Out April 17 - Magus “Music for Mandrax” LP from Language of Stone.

"Formed in late 2024, Magus sprung from a desire by both artists to experiment with darker, heavier sounds. Long enamored of artists like Flower Travelling Band, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple; Greg and Jessica Weeks delved deeply into trance like riffs and euphoric solos to create the backbone of what has become their debut album, Music for Mandrax.”

Out May 15 - K. Leimer “Atrophies For Piano” LP from Palace Of Lights.

"Part of the early independent music movement that started in the late 1970s, K. Leimer and his label Palace Of Lights occupies a special and respected niche among electronic, experimental and ambient genres.

Aided occasionally by treated strings, each piece seeks out edges of imminent collapse and harmonic decay.”

Out May 15 - Lauren Lakis “Deadlights” LP / CD from Riding Easy.

"Indebted to shoegaze and ’90s alt rock, its 10 tracks are filled with ethereal vocals, melodic guitars, and a heavy low end. It’s inspired by groups like Deftones and Hole, powerful bands that explore the emotional bottom but are able to rise from the depths.”

Out May 15 - Wheelchair Sports Camp “Oh Imperfecta!” LP from Alternative Tentacles.

"Wheelchair Sports Camp is certainly not your average hip-hop act. Hailing from Denver, CO, fronted by Kalyn Rose Heffernan—a wheelchair using, profanely queer and tiny rapper, with a very distinctly high-pitched sense of humor. Backed by her gimp Greggy on drums, the band combines fantastic beats with an absolutely face shredding live show."

Out May 15 - Rhododendron “Ascent Effort” LP / LP COLOR / CD / MC from the Flenser.

"Transformation, growth, and rebirth drive Ascent Effort, the latest release from Portland, Oregon trio Rhododendron. In the past seven years the trio has developed a sound rooted in technical precision and repetition. Drawing from the angular experimentation of underground rock in the 1980s and 1990s alongside elements of jazz, ambient, and progressive music, their compositions are deliberate with intensity."
